Washington: Part III [everything else in between]
i have to admit it...i could live here. over california. any day. (sorry! dont be mad.)
there's a little beach called Point No Point not too far from my grandparent's house:
and this horse! sigh. i love this horse. we saw him (her?) everyday going into town.
meanwhile..... we picked raspberries off of my cousin's raspberry bush one day...
and the next day Oma turned them into the BEST JAM I HAVE EVER TASTED in my entire life. i am not joking. i have a jar in the fridge that no one is allowed to eat. except me. i take my food seriously.
see? oma's blueberry muffins.
and lastly...the ferry rides...
my heart hurts. can we go back now???

washington: Part 1 [oma's house]
aaannnndd. im back.
i dont think it's ever been this hard for me to leave before! I am in love with it. I miss the green. and the trees. and the nature. and i of course miss my grandparents. i took way too many pictures. so much, in fact, that i have to split this post up into multiple sections!
So for now..here is Part 1: Oma's house. ("oma" means grandma in dutch. and oma traveled here from holland when she was 18!)
(im the kid on the top! :)
there's a little pizza parlor in town. their windows were painted like this for the fourth!
its true.
i love that town.

the evergreen state.
ahhh :)
if i could summarize my childhood in 5 words, Washington would be one of them. It's the home of my grandparents. i visit every summer.
there are trees everywhere. and fresh air.
and it. is. beautiful.
beautiful!
i will be living in their little log cabin home in the woods for a week. ill be picking fresh blackberries and watching the deer from the window.
see you soon!

it is here.
There are bright pink hydrangeas in front of my house now that the sun stays up late and the weather is warm.
It is the season of my favorite foods. fruit of all size, color and taste, (my favorite!) corn on the cob at BBQ's and light and fresh salads.
i can wake up early in the mornings without shivering under my covers, and the smell of sunscreen reminds me of my childhood.
I will soon be returning to Washington for a week for my life long family tradition to visit my grandparents in their little home in the woods that always smells like campfire and fresh evergreen trees.
i am so glad its here. Summer has waited too long.
